These small but clean waves are on the Pacific coast of Hokkaido. The beach stretched for miles but there were no surfers in sight. This coastline is in a corner of Hokkaido that takes a perfect swell direction to reach so I was surprised that there was any surf at all.
A recent typhoon swell had swept a lot of ocean junk onto the beach in the foreground but the water was clean.
This day I did not have my surfboard with me.
